"Summer Garden" 11 x 14 pastel
Jane Christie, has been an active artist all of her life. As a child she attended art school at the Altanta High Museum of Art. At the University of Georgia, Jane worked towards her Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics, but her love of painting drew her to the art curriculum instead. She has studied with Doug Dawson, Marcia Hines and Albert Handel.
Three great painters with very different styles and techniques. Come enjoy the afternoon at the gallery in Cherry Creek, get some sound tips of painting with oils and pastels, how to apply thick paint strokes, keeping it loose or finding beauty in the mundane landscape. Get the grit on working on location in the wilderness areas.
Skye Mason' Skye's, atypical approach to the canvas has a romantic quality layering the oils while utilizing dramatic colors to carefully display thick, visible strokes of the brush. Reflective light, mode and technique are qualities to be discovered in her florals and figuratives.
"Morning Light" 18 x 24 oil
Stacey Peterson, Colorado landscape artist remarks,"I love waking up before the sun rises on a camping trip. I make a cup of coffee and bundle myself up, then sneak outside to watch the sunrise. While the world is still quiet, I'm shivering and waiting for the first rays of morning light to bathe the top of the divide in golden light. I sit there as the light marches down the mountains and across the land until it reaches my toes."
