SAKS GALLERIES is the oldest fine art gallery in Colorado. Family owned and operated for more than 50 years, the gallery has built lasting relationships with three generations of patrons. Known worldwide for its diverse, refined collection that features both contemporary and historical works, Saks Galleries offers outstanding professional advice on the procurement of significant fine art.
The gallery is located in the heart of Denver’s Cherry Creek shopping district.  Specializing in 19th- to 21st-century American and European oils, bronzes and watercolors, the experts at Saks Galleries are dedicated to presenting important fine art to the region, and purchase both individual works and entire estates. The gallery’s Denver location also inspires its special interest in art of the American West and Native Americana.
Saks Galleries is a major dealer in early Colorado paintings, including works by Charles Partridge Adams, Gerard Curtis Delano and painters of the Broadmoor Academy. The gallery also represents many nationally established artists of today such as G. Russell Case, Walt Gonske, Quang Ho, Jill Soukup and many others. Hosting several exhibitions each year, the gallery is able to assist both the beginning collector as well as the seasoned patron in their search for works by particular regional or national award-winning masters.  The artists represented offer a wide spectrum of techniques—from traditional impressionism to contemporary realism.
The gallery is a member of the Appraisers Association of America and offers a full range of professional services for insurance and estate purposes.

Growing up at the foot of the Rocky Mountains, Stacey developed a love for the outdoors that influences her artwork today. An avid hiker, backpacker and runner, Peterson draws upon her time outdoors to provide the inspiration for her landscape paintings. She often works on location, and uses her plein air studies as reference for studio works that depicts locations in the wilderness areas of Colorado and the Rocky Mountain West. Stacey is an award-winning painter, most recently honored with an Honorable Mention in the Salon International Show, and awards of excellence at the Oil Painters of America 15th and 16th national exhibitions.

Daniel Glanz "Lazy Days" bronze

Meet Colorado sculptor Daniel Glanz

May 5, 2012
1pm - 4pm

Dan is currently working on a table top Saint Bernard in clay form. He will discuss the process of developing a finished bronze piece from this stage. Saks Galleries will exhibit several new canine sculptures.

Daniel began his career in illustration and fine art photography with the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute.  His art is known for its energy, movement and technical mastery.  Both figurative and wildlife work share a powerful yet elegant quality, drawn from his classical approach to sculpture. Daniel says of his work, ”I would like the viewer to develop some kind of feeling about the animals I sculpt, whether those feelings are fearsome or friendly, intense or serene, joyous or sad. I try to capture the spirit and feeling I see in my subject and convey them to you the viewer.”

His work, which is created in his studios in Colorado, range in size from tabletop to monumental.  Daniel’s editions and commissions grace many private collections and public art programs.  Many recognize the monumental Jaguar that graces a perch in Vail, Colorado.
